Crypto Industry Faces Growing Threats from Advanced Cyber Attacks
The crypto industry has been plagued by a series of high-profile hacks in 2026, with losses exceeding $600 million so far this year.
According to CertiK's senior blockchain investigator Natalie Newson, the majority of these attacks have been linked to North Korea. In April, two significant hacks occurred, resulting in the theft of $293 million from the Kelp DAO exploit and $280 million from the Drift Protocol.
Newson warned that as AI technology advances, it will become increasingly difficult for investors to protect themselves against sophisticated cyber attacks. She emphasized the importance of being aware of current threats and taking necessary precautions, such as verifying the authenticity of URLs and smart contracts.
