Salinas Sees Bitcoin Outperforming Dollar, Predicts $1 Million Price Target
Mexican billionaire Ricardo Salinas Pliego is a long-term believer in Bitcoin. Despite the recent slide in the crypto market, he remains undeterred and even thinks it's a better investment than real estate. He currently holds an astonishing 70% of his investable portfolio in Bitcoin, which is way beyond the recommended range for most investors.
Salinas views Bitcoin as a stand-alone asset class that can appreciate in value over time, unlike other currencies such as the U.S. dollar, which he expects to decline in purchasing power due to its massive debt load of $39 trillion. He points out that if you invested in BTC in January 2016 when it traded for just $400, you would only need 15 BTC to buy a $1 million house today, compared to 2,500 BTC back then.
The billionaire is not alone in his prediction that Bitcoin could reach a price of $1 million within the next decade. He mentions that other notable figures such as Michael Saylor, Cathie Wood, and Brian Armstrong have also set similar targets for Bitcoin's future value.
