Bitpanda Launches Vision Chain to Bring Tokenization to European Financial Markets
Vienna-based fintech company Bitpanda has introduced Vision Chain, its own blockchain infrastructure that combines the benefits of decentralized technologies with the security and stability of regulated financial markets.
The network is a Layer-2 blockchain built on top of Ethereum, developed in collaboration with the Vision Web3 Foundation and blockchain infrastructure provider Optimism. This means that transactions are not settled directly on Ethereum, but rather bundled and submitted to Ethereum in batches, making them faster and cheaper than traditional transactions.
Vision Chain is designed to support the tokenization of real-world assets, such as equities, bonds, real estate, and stablecoins, while ensuring regulatory compliance. The network integrates on-chain Know Your Customer (KYC) mechanisms, allowing for identity verification and regulatory requirements to be anchored directly within the blockchain infrastructure.
The Vision Token (VSN), issued by the Vision Web3 Foundation, serves as the commercial engine of the ecosystem, with a portion of network revenues used to buy back VSN tokens and remove them from circulation. This is intended to ensure that increasing network activity contributes to the value development of the ecosystem.
