Oman Joins Kazakhstan in State Bitcoin Mining Pool Push

Oman has joined Kazakhstan in building its own state Bitcoin mining pool, Omanhash.om. The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Information Technology unveiled it on June 17, 2026. Participation is mandatory for licensed miners operating in Oman.

The project was led by Enegix Global, a digital energy and infrastructure company that provided the technology platform and liquidity infrastructure for the pool. Frontier Technologies LLC handles local operations and management.

Oman currently controls around 3% of global network hashrate, or roughly 30 EH/s, according to Q2 2026 data from Hashrate Index. The new pool targets 10 EH/s in its initial phase, which would combine with Enegix's other pools to reach approximately 25 EH/s.

The government's push for mining investment is part of Oman Vision 2040, an economic diversification strategy targeting reduced dependence on oil through investment in digital infrastructure and blockchain. Regulated mining operations are permitted in Oman under Central Bank guidance, but cryptocurrency itself is not legal tender.
