Emirates Aims to Accept 30+ Cryptocurrencies for Flights in 2026

Emirates, one of the largest airlines in history, has signed an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) with Crypto.com to explore integrating crypto payments into its systems. The collaboration aims to launch Crypto.com Pay as a payment option on Emirates routes by 2026.

The supported assets include Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), Cronos, and stablecoins such as USDT and USDC, with plans to support over 30 cryptocurrencies. This move marks a significant shift towards embracing digital currencies at scale, with direct infrastructure integration rather than just a payment gateway workaround.

Emirates' Chairman Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum confirmed the partnership in the presence of Adnan Kazim, Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, who stated that the integration reflects Emirates' commitment to meeting evolving customer preferences while tapping into younger, tech-savvy customer segments who prefer digital currencies.
