Bitcoin Ownership Shifts as Institutions Buy In and Retail Investors Sell

The Bitcoin market has been experiencing a significant shift in ownership, with institutions increasing their holdings while retail investors are selling. According to data from CryptoQuant, institutional capital flow into Bitcoin has outpaced that of Ethereum, with fund holdings increasing by 7.2% since February.

This trend is not unique to Bitcoin, as the overall crypto market is also reflecting a shift in investor sentiment. The rise of gold prices due to rising inflation has led to increased interest in precious metals and potentially cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin.

However, this does not necessarily mean that institutions are buying into Bitcoin for the long haul. A recent spike in inflows to Binance suggests that retail investors may be taking profits as the price breaches $80k.
