Binance Sees Record Ethereum Withdrawals Amid Regulatory Uncertainty
Binance has reported its highest weekly Ethereum withdrawals in over three years, according to data from CryptoQuant. The exchange saw $1.23 billion in net outflows during the week beginning June 29, a 207% increase from the previous week's $400 million. This trend is part of a broader pattern, with total net outflows for the month reaching about $3.2 billion.
The most notable aspect of this trend is Ethereum withdrawals, which reached their highest level in over three years at more than 166,000 transactions in a single day. CryptoQuant links this surge to uncertainty around the EU's MiCA implementation as well as short-term positioning.
While some analysts argue that these withdrawals could indicate accumulation behavior, others point to regulatory uncertainty and potential exchange-positioning pressures. The broader timing backdrop is supportive for the ETH narrative, with Ether up about 12.5% over the past week.
