Coinbase's ambitious expansion plans have been unveiled by its CEO Brian Armstrong. The exchange will now offer trading in perpetual futures, stock options, and stock token options tied to pre-IPO companies, bridging the gap between traditional finance and cryptocurrency.
The overhaul of Coinbase's institutional platform, Coinbase Advanced, aims to reduce disparities between U.S. and international users. This includes integrating global liquidity with Deribit, a leading derivatives exchange, providing deeper order books and competitive pricing for institutional traders.
Coinbase is also launching stablecoin payment features tailored for businesses through its developer division, Coinbase Dev. These tools aim to simplify the integration of blockchain-based payments for merchants and enterprises, expanding the use of stablecoins in everyday commerce.
