Cryptocurrency Holder Recovers $320,000 in Lost Bitcoin with AI Assistance

A cryptocurrency holder has made headlines after successfully recovering $320,000 in lost Bitcoin with the assistance of Anthropic's AI system Claude.

The wallet had been inaccessible since 2015 due to a forgotten password change, but Claude was able to analyze over 1GB of data from various devices and email platforms to locate the seed phrase that granted access.

According to reports, the user, known as Cprkrn, attempted various brute force recovery methods for two months before turning to Claude. The AI system employed Hashcat, a specialized password recovery utility, to evaluate an additional 3.4 trillion potential passwords, but it was ultimately able to locate the seed phrase in an old college notebook.

The entire AI-assisted recovery operation cost only $15, and the user was finally able to access their lost Bitcoin.
