Tokenization and Stablecoins Fuel Shift Towards Finance 2.0
The cryptocurrency market is at a critical juncture, with industry leaders pushing for the adoption of tokenization, stablecoins, and exchange-traded products (ETPs). Bitwise and Tether are among the key players driving this shift, which they term 'Finance 2.0'. This new financial architecture promises to revolutionize how savings, settlement, and capital flows operate.
Teddy Fusaro, President of Bitwise, has stated that blockchain-based systems are '10 times superior' to traditional financial infrastructure, despite adoption still being at an early stage. Gabor Gurbacs, a Tether advisor, has also emphasized the potential of tokenization in rebuilding capital markets and connecting global savings and capital markets more efficiently.
The growth of crypto investment products has been significant, with over 2,000 US advisory firms now allocating to crypto ETPs. Global crypto ETF assets under management have reached an estimated $180 billion by mid-2025, with a substantial portion tied to U.S.-listed products. This integration of crypto with mainstream portfolio decisions highlights the increasing relevance of 'Finance 2.0'.
