BNB Chain Unveils New Layer 1 Blockchain for AI Agent Activity
The BNB Chain has unveiled plans to build a new Layer 1 blockchain specifically designed for AI agent activity, targeting mainnet launch in early 2027. This move aims to address the growing need for fast and secure on-chain trading by AI agents, which currently exceeds the capabilities of the existing network.
According to the BNB Chain 2026 H2 Tech Roadmap, the new blockchain will be capable of processing high-speed transactions with pre-confirmations within 50 milliseconds, a throughput of 100,000 TPS, and final confirmations within one second. This will provide a significant boost in speed and safety compared to existing solutions.
The current BNB Smart Chain (BSC) already processes around 5,200 TPS, but AI agents require faster processing times for their split-second decisions. By building a separate system, the team can ensure that the existing network remains unaffected while catering to the growing demand for high-speed transactions.
