BitMine Doubles Down on Ethereum, Aims to Reach 5% of Total Supply
BitMine Immersion Technologies, a firm led by Tom Lee, has made significant strides in its Ethereum holdings. According to recent data, the company now controls over 4% of the total Ethereum supply.
In just one week, BitMine added over 100,000 ETH, marking one of its most aggressive accumulation periods so far. This purchase is part of a larger strategy that includes staking, investing, and building an ecosystem around Ethereum.
Tom Lee believes that Ethereum is entering a strong phase due to improving market conditions and growing demand from institutions. He highlighted that ETH has outperformed major markets during recent global tensions, and its performance suggests a 'mini-crypto' winter is coming to an end.
BitMine's approach to accumulating Ethereum is unique. Instead of holding cash, the company uses Ethereum as its main treasury reserve and stakes a large portion of its holdings. This strategy earns rewards while supporting the network, with billions of dollars worth of ETH already staked.
