Bitcoin Whale Revives 12-Year-Old Wallet with $41M Transfer
A large holder of digital assets has reactivated a wallet that had been inactive since November 2013, transferring 500 BTC valued at approximately $41 million to a new destination.
According to onchain data from Arkham and blockchain tracking service Whale Alert, the funds moved from a long-standing address to a fresh wallet at approximately 3:16 p.m. ET and 19:16 UTC respectively.
The transfer is significant, as it marks one of the largest movements of dormant Bitcoin in recent years. The new wallet does not appear to be connected to any known cryptocurrency exchange, fueling speculation about the owner's intentions.
Market observers suggest that such moves often happen when investors are preparing to sell their holdings to lock in profits or to manage their digital assets more effectively.
