Hayes Defends Sales of Cryptocurrencies Amid Controversy

BitMEX co-founder Arthur Hayes has been involved in a controversy surrounding the timing of his sales of various cryptocurrencies. On-chain investigator ZachXBT questioned Hayes over the sale of Worldcoin (WLD), Zcash (ZEC), Hyperliquid (HYPE) and NEAR Protocol, suggesting that Hayes' public bullish comments may have influenced his followers to buy into the assets.

Hayes denied these claims, stating that he sold to willing buyers at market prices. He framed the move as a normal market transaction rather than an attempt to influence retail traders.
