South Korea's stock market has been experiencing extreme volatility in recent days, with sharp drops and rebounds affecting investor sentiment. The KOSPI index fell about 20% in two days due to a deflated speculative bubble centered on artificial intelligence-related shares.

The downturn was short-lived, however, as the possibility of ceasefire talks between the US and Iran emerged, and global oil prices eased. This led to a rebound, with foreign investors turning from net sellers to net buyers for two consecutive days.

With retail investors accounting for a high share in both stock and digital asset markets, analysis suggests that they tend to move from one speculative market to another rather than exit risk assets altogether.
