CFTC Unveils Innovation Task Force Members to Tackle Crypto Regulatory Challenges
The US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) has taken a significant step towards providing clarity to the crypto market with the announcement of its innovation task force members.
The task force, led by Michael Passalacqua, senior advisor to CFTC Chairman Mike Selig, will bring together industry experts from various backgrounds to address regulatory challenges facing the digital asset sector.
The initial members include Hank Balaban, a former Latham & Watkins crypto lawyer; Sam Canavos, an ex-Patomak crypto and prediction markets advisor; Mark Fajfar, a CFTC legal veteran; Eugene Gonzalez IV, an ex-Sidley blockchain lawyer; and Dina Moussa, a CFTC Market Participants Division special counsel.
The announcement is part of a broader push for regulatory clarity in the digital asset sector, with both the CFTC and Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) working to provide clear rules of the road for American innovators.
