Bitcoin Prices Surge on Iran Ceasefire Optimism
Bitcoin's price has rebounded strongly, reaching as high as $69,120 on Monday after news emerged that a ceasefire between the US and Iran is being discussed. This development has sparked optimism in the market, leading to a surge in buying activity and a sharp increase in prices.
The rally was led by Ethereum, which gained 3.7% to reach $2,130. Other major cryptocurrencies also saw significant gains, with SOL rising 2% to $82 and XRP adding 2.2% to $1.34. Dogecoin climbed 1.7% to $0.093.
The market's reaction to the news was swift and pronounced, with over $196 million in short positions being squeezed out of the market over the past 24 hours. This is a significant increase from the previous day, and indicates that traders were heavily positioned for further downside after last week's sentiment collapse.
