Avalanche Sees Tripling of Monthly Active Addresses Amid Network Revival
Avalanche's recent surge in activity has been marked by a significant increase in monthly active addresses, which have more than tripled since December. According to available data, the number of active addresses on the Avalanche network has risen from approximately 467,000 to over 1.6 million.
While it is essential to note that the number of active addresses may not perfectly measure individual users due to various factors such as multiple wallets controlled by a single person and automated strategies, the overall trend suggests an increase in on-chain participation. This growth adds to the already visible trend in Avalanche's transaction data, which has seen a substantial surge.
The C-Chain, being the EVM-compatible smart-contract chain where DeFi apps, stablecoin transfers, NFT markets, gaming transactions, and wallet activity settle, remains at the center of most user-facing activity on the network. The recent address growth strengthens the case that the transaction surge was not a short burst of low-value activity but rather an increase in wallets interacting with Avalanche applications.
Avalanche has also seen increased activity across DeFi and stablecoins, with approximately $1.44 billion in stablecoin market cap, $82 million in 24-hour DEX volume, and over 710,000 active addresses over 24 hours. This suggests stronger activity, although fee revenue and app revenue will ultimately decide the economic value of this usage.
