Wall Street's Blockchain Revolution: A Shift to Decentralized Finance
The financial landscape is undergoing significant changes as traditional infrastructure begins to incorporate blockchain technology. According to Brickken CEO Edwin Mata, the transition to a blockchain-based system will be complete by 2030, marking a major shift in the way Wall Street operates.
This prediction is not without merit, as several major players are already actively driving the adoption of blockchain in their core processes. BlackRock's BUIDL fund and Bullish's $4.2 billion acquisition of transfer agent Equiniti for on-chain stock record-keeping from issuance are just a few examples.
Mata also emphasized the importance of automation with AI, stating that traditional dashboards will be replaced by simple chat prompts. AI agents will independently find the best yields and manage assets, effectively making decisions without human intervention.
