Myanmar Proposes Harsh Penalties Against Online Fraud

Myanmar's efforts to combat online fraud have taken a significant turn with the introduction of a new draft law aimed at tackling the issue.

The proposed legislation introduces life imprisonment for those involved in organizing cryptocurrency scams, marking one of the harshest penalties globally. The bill also includes the death penalty for individuals who coerce others into participating in fraudulent call centers.
