Cardano Founder Shuts Down Healthcare Clinic, Focuses on Blockchain Initiatives
Charles Hoskinson, the founder of the Cardano blockchain network, has announced that he will be shutting down his healthcare clinic in Wyoming due to financial difficulties. The clinic, which was launched in 2023, had been struggling to sustain operations despite significant investments and efforts to establish a modern healthcare model in the region.
Hoskinson's decision to shut down the clinic comes as he reaffirms his commitment to Cardano and Midnight, stating that he is now fully focused on these initiatives. In a statement, Hoskinson emphasized that he is 100% committed to developing Cardano and Midnight, and that he will be dedicating all of his time and resources to these projects.
Under Hoskinson's leadership, the Cardano network has maintained uninterrupted operations for over eight years, with recent milestones including surpassing 121 million processed transactions. The network continues to advance its infrastructure and scalability through ongoing efforts led by Input Output Global (IOG), which is working on treasury proposals to enhance consensus, Layer-2 scalability, network upgrades, and developer experience.
Hoskinson's dedication to Cardano and Midnight has been unwavering, with him previously stating that he wants the network to succeed and eventually surpass Bitcoin in market value. He also remains one of the largest holders of ADA tokens, despite reportedly losing over $3 billion following the decline in price from its all-time high.
