Strategy Can Survive $30,000 Bitcoin without Selling, Says BTC.TOP CEO
Chinese mining CEO Jiang Zhuoer of BTC.TOP has weighed in on the recent speculation surrounding Strategy's bitcoin holdings. In a statement, he argued that Strategy's balance sheet allows it to maintain its 'never-sell-bitcoin' image even if the price drops to $30,000.
Jiang defended the company's use of high-yield preferred shares, stating that selling old coins to fund dividends does not impact its net buying position. He noted that as long as purchases outpace sales, Strategy stays a net buyer.
Others in the discussion were less convinced, warning that a prolonged bear market could still force larger bitcoin sales. However, Jiang's statement has helped to push back against speculation that Strategy dumped about 45,000 bitcoin from a Fidelity custody wallet.
