Google's AI Tooling Revolutionizes Filmmaking with 'Bitcoin' Production
Google's AI tooling has been increasingly applied in various industries, including filmmaking. The search giant's efforts have led to a significant improvement in production efficiency and creative scope. One notable example is the feature film 'Bitcoin', directed by Doug Liman, which showcases the capabilities of AI-assisted production.
The film was produced by 30 Ninjas, a startup founded by Jed Weintrob and Julina Tatlock, in collaboration with Google. The project began approximately two and a half years ago, with an initial post-production estimate of 40 years. However, thanks to the advancements in Gemini Omni and Veo-based rendering tools, the timeline was significantly reduced to just six months.
The production process involved shooting on a single stage, which allowed for the creation of AI-rendered environments representing 150 cities worldwide. This approach not only saved costs but also expanded the creative scope of the film. The cast included Casey Affleck, Gal Gadot, and Pete Davidson, and the story revolves around the world of cryptocurrency.
