Coinbase Unfazed by Wall Street Competition, Advocates for Sensible Crypto Regulation
Coinbase has announced that it does not fear competition from Wall Street, according to a recent statement from the exchange's head of Policy for Europe, Katie Harries.
Harries stated that Coinbase is 'not at all' worried about the increasing involvement of financial institutions in the crypto market, citing the exchange's grassroots community support as a key differentiator. She noted that millions of people worldwide have chosen to use cryptocurrency because they believe in its principles, such as open and accessible peer-to-peer finance.
The Stand With Crypto events, which are taking place in over 500 locations worldwide, aim to mobilize the crypto community and advocate for digital assets. The events coincide with Bitcoin Pizza Day, a celebration of the first real-world bitcoin transaction. Harries emphasized that the time for sensible regulation is now, arguing that policymakers must take note of the growing influence of 'crypto voters.'
