The study found that while blockchains can preserve content records, external tools must still determine whether the material is AI-generated. The researchers argue that decentralization cannot remove training bias, though it may improve transparency and wider governance.
IC3 says meaningful integration remains early and calls for stronger evidence behind claims that blockchain can make AI agents autonomous, identify generated content, or remove model bias. They note that crypto wallets automate AI transactions but do not create autonomy, stating 'AI systems do not become more intelligent by possessing a wallet.'
