Ethereum Foundation's True Purpose: A Matter of Perspective

The Ethereum Foundation has faced criticism in recent months over its sales and unstaking activity, with some users expressing concerns about transparency and accountability.

However, blockchain researcher William Mougayar has come to the defense of the organization, arguing that critics are misunderstanding its role. In a post on X, he emphasized that the Ethereum Foundation is not responsible for marketing the Ethereum (ETH) token, but rather focuses on hardening the protocol and funding research and development.

Mougayar pointed out that the Foundation's grant activity has focused on areas such as zero-knowledge research, validator security, and public infrastructure. He also rejected the idea that the Foundation should prioritize short-term market demands over protecting the Ethereum protocol.
