South Korean Petition to Abolish Cryptocurrency Taxes Gains Momentum
A recent nationwide petition calling for the cancellation of cryptocurrency taxation in South Korea has gained significant traction, gathering support from over 50,000 people in just eight days.
The 'Petition to Cancel Virtual Asset Tax' was posted on the National Assembly's electronic petition platform and has now met the threshold for submission to a standing committee for review.
The petition will be transferred to the Strategy and Finance Committee, which oversees the Ministry of Economy and Finance and the National Tax Service, for further examination.
Once reviewed by the committee, it may be decided whether to submit the petition to a plenary session for consideration.
