Cryptocurrency Investor Goes Long on US Stocks with Significant Leverage
A major player in the cryptocurrency market has been observed increasing its long positions in two key stock indexes: the S&P 500 and Nasdaq 100.
The whale, identified as holding an address with $150 million in total position value, has opened a $120 million long position in these indexes. The positions are held with significant leverage, with a 50x long on the S&P 500 and a 30x long on the Nasdaq 100.
The average prices for these positions are $7,416.9 for the S&P 500 and $29,187 for the Nasdaq 100, with corresponding liquidation prices of $6,942.8 and $25,175.
Notably, this whale also holds a short position in 102 different cryptocurrencies, totaling $30 million. This move is reminiscent of a similar strategy employed by the investor in February, where they 'shorted' 100 cryptocurrencies before going long on metals.
